Below, you will find a few answers that you may find useful. If you require any further information, please do not hesitate in contacting me here.
Q: Can I visit you?
Yes, of course. You can either ask me to come and visit you, or you can come and meet me, by appointment, on Savile Row or at various locations around the UK, including Nottingham, Oxford, Liverpool and Manchester.
Q: Do you make outfits for ladies?
No I don’t. The reason for this is simply that the way in which they are created is totally different and I would prefer to be a master at one discipline.
Q: Where do the fabrics come from?
As previously stated, I specialise in English or Scottish made fabrics. However, given that the other countries are specialists in certain types of fabrics, I can source other these too.
Q: How do I order?
The Bespoke Tailor is a visiting tailor service and I visit you wherever and whenever is good for you. If you prefer to meet in London, I can meet on Savile Row by appointment. To meet with me, or have me come to meet you, please email on here.
Q: How do I pay?
There is no charge whatsoever for me to visit you. On ordering a shirt, you pay the full amount. When ordering a suit or overcoat, you will have a number of fittings. Once you have decided on the cloth you want and the style of cut you are looking for, a deposit is taken. Only at the final fitting is the remaining balance paid by you. You can pay by cheque, bank transfer or cash.
Q: How long do fittings take?
This depends on you. If you know the cloth and style you are after, then the actual measuring can take as little as 10 minutes. However, there have been occasions when I have been with clients all day!
Q: What can I expect?
You can expect a very professional service, by an experienced , personable tailor. I can advise in all aspects of menswear and I explain the various eticet we should adhere to. I advise you about the different cloths available. Remember it is your suit, so there are no wrong answers – merely preferences!
Q: How long does it take to make?
You can expect your shirts to be made within 4 weeks and your suit (or overcoat) I ask for 6 weeks from receipt of the cloth. I keep various fabrics in stock so if time is an issue, please let me know at the time of booking and I will do my up most to help.
Q: How long will my shirt, suit or overcoat last?
I create the garments with investment in mind. By putting 6 inches of fabric within the jacket, this means that the suit will grow with you if you change shape! I deal with all kinds of clients, some of who change shape constantly. I also make sure to fully understand the use of the suit before settling on a fabric too as this is key to longevity.
Q: How do I look after my shirts and suits?
I have created a care sheet which is extremely useful. I hand a copy of this to the client at the time of handover.
Q: Why should I pay £895.00 or more for a suit?
I create our garments using the finest materials available. Each garment is cut uniquely for the client to ensure the fit is perfect and the choice of cloth is perfectly suitable to its needs. This combination means that the garment will, if treated correctly, last a lot longer than a off the peg garment.
